Question answered

One of the comments to an earlier update asked why a mechanical valve was chosen over a tissue one. Carol made that choice because the mechanical valve could last her entire lifetime while a tissue one would likely last 10-15 years tops. She will have to be on blood thinners for the rest of her lifte, but preferred that to facing this all over again. Dr. Shin said at her age, the mechanical made much more sense too.

Also, when you do comment to the blog, please put your last initial too. We have several friends who are reading the blog and commenting that share the same first names, so a last initial would be great.
