OK, we arrived home a short while ago. Carol is very tired from the stress of the procedure and because she didn't sleep all that well last night. So she went right to bed. Her wrist hurts a bit where they put the catheter in and it is in a splint type of imobilizer. She has to wear that for the next day or so. Other than that, there should be no other effects from the procedure.
Kaiser has just opened up a coronary care unit at Sunnyside hospital. In the past, they sent all their heart patients to St. Vincent's out in Beaverton. They are not fully operational yet and are being selective on the cases they accept to operate on at Sunnyside. One of the medical staff said that Carol will be able to have her surgery done in the unit because her's is a very low risk case and exceeds the criteria they are using currently. That is really good news because St. Vincents is quite a bit further and on the other side of Portland. We won't have near the traffic nor time spent on the road while she is in their care.
