The International Rose Garden is just one small part of Washington Park in Portland. The zoo is there, along with a children’s museum, the World Forestry Center, an arboretum, and many other places of interest. 
Visitors to Washington Park can visit the Japanese Gardens, or play a round of tennis.
Concerts are held in the outdoor amphitheater during the evenings in August.
The entrance to the amphitheater and the Rose Garden offers an enticing glimpse of downtown Portland. This is one of my favorite views of the city!
I vaguely remember Washington Gardens. Have you visited the Grotto, also called the Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother? While it is owned and operated by us Catholics, they welcome all folks - no preaching! It is another of Portland's beautiful gardens.
ReplyDeleteAs a kid, I enjoyed the free concerts by the Chicago Symphony in Grant Park. Aren't outdoor concerts great? :)
