Welcome to my new blog followers, Freely Living Life.
On Sunday we visited the battery Harvey Allen at the former Fort Canby at Cape Disappointment. Now there’s a Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center at the site of Battery Harvey Allen.

Our stay here at Cape Disappointment State Park is coming to end. Beginning in October, we will be able to begin using our off-season senior resident’s pass, which allows us to camp for free at any Washington state park if there are no hookups and for $6/night for full hookups. What a deal! We will be back, maybe in October for the Water Music Festival, a weekend of classical music.
That sunset pic is so beautiful. The battery looks very interesting. By the time we left you and Dave on Sunday afternoon, the girls were wanting to go back to the RV and play. We decided to save all of the state park area for exploring when we get to return...alone! Safe travels back home tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteCarol, thanks for showing us around Cape Disappointment. We've already told you we didn't see that one, but we sure did see similar batteries and gun mounts down at Fort Stevens on the Oregon coast. It was a good visit there. Same day we visited the Fort Clatsop Lewis and Clark site, and the next year in burned to the ground!
ReplyDeleteLike Margie I really like the sunset picture. So good to finally get caught up again. Our busy time starts Friday and goes thru 9/6. Have a great day.
