No, we are not going on a trip. Today is the 21st anniversary of Airplane Day—the day that our family of three became a family of four. Jonathan arrived on an airplane from Korea on August 7, 1989. He was four months old. It was a much anticipated day for all of us. Well, maybe not for Jonathan!
He was one frightened baby after the long flight from Korea to San Francisco. He cried when I held him, and stopped crying when Dave held him, but still wasn't happy. When we finally got into our rented mini-van in the airport parking lot, Jonathan was placed in his car seat next to his new big brother, Tim, age 7. Tim made faces at Jonathan and interacted with him and finally Jonathan began to relax and smile.

ReplyDeleteNice looking young men. A good day for remembering. :)
ReplyDeleteA neat name for the day! Aiplane Day. They grow so quickly, change so much, but they are still the very same babies you loved the first day you held them. Our older daughter will be 49 next month, and younger one will be 46 in December. Our youngest sprout is great grandson Darren at almost 9 months.
ReplyDeleteI never get tired of hearing this story. We LOVE Jonathan! I like the pictures too. Thanks for sharing about it.
