We Leave Tomorrow!

We met our friends, Tom and Cindi, for lunch at Applebee's.  We usually go to Applebee's for dinner, not lunch, and I am always taken by surprise when I see their fairly inexpensive lunch menu.  You can pick any two from soup, salad, and sandwiches, which gives a lot of choices.  I had chili and the new crunchy Asian salad.  Dave had French onion soup and two French dip sliders. 

Tom and Cindi are RVers and we have a lot in common with them.  They went to Arizona during spring break, only this time they drove their car, not their motorhome.  They went to the Grand Canyon one day and told us about the parking lot construction going on near Mather Point.  We told them the details about our trip to Utah and Arizona. 

Tonight, as usual, we will meet at our house for home church with our friends, Sandy and Warren.  We visit, have a time for prayer and praise, have communion together, discuss theology, and listen to mp3s of White Horse Inn, Timothy Keller, Martyn Lloyd-Jones, etc.  We'll miss meeting with them while we are on our trip!

We leave tomorrow!  We originally planned to leave Vancouver on Tuesday morning, but we are so anxious to get going that we decided to leave on Monday afternoon if we got all our preparations ready in time.  We finished loading the motorhome yesterday which made for a relaxing day today!  After Dave gets home from his lunch meeting on Monday, we'll head out.

We'll head east on I-84 for 3 or 4 hours and probably stop at the Boardman marina park or the Wildhorse Casino RV park near Pendleton, Oregon.  We've been to both parks and they are both nice.  Getting a head start on Monday will make each of the travel days easier.  We don't like to drive more than 300-350 miles each day and prefer to drive less than that if we can.  We need to be in St. George, Utah by Thursday night. 

A big thank you to our neighbors, Doug and Beth and Eddie and Kim, for keeping an eye on our house while we are gone.  Hopefully their job will be an easy one with no bad news to report!
