On Thursday, Dave and I drove the 20 or so miles to Morro Bay. We walked along the entire waterfront for a total round-trip of about three miles. Morro Bay is different than Pismo Beach because it was built along the bay, and thus, has a marina area. It's a fishing town as well as being a tourist destination, and there are many excellent (I presume) places to eat seafood.

I have been reading a lot about the areas you are visiting and hope to get to that part of California someday. I love little coastal towns.

ReplyDeleteA better time to walk the Bob Jones' Trail is midweek. Also, drive north on the frontage road from the Bob Jone's Trail parking lot. You will eventually come to a long curve in the road, just before driving under the freeway toward SLO. Right at that curve is a dirt parking lot to the Johnson Ranch Trail. It is a working ranch that has allowed the city of SLO to develop an overland dirt trail. Wonderful walk. You might also NOT want to walk there on weekends. Too many other walkers. But it's not to miss!
